I AM SO HAPPY AND RELIEVED!!
PW is finally over after much work in the last 7 mths.
we started off with 5 memebrs, but yueh phing (an ASEAN scholar) found a better scholarship in malaysia and left at about june.
then joanne is always sick with "migraine" and other weird reasons for not turning up at meetings, and thus most of the jobs after yp left is done by us - the 3 guys.
tt includes the 40 % 5000 words written report.
but luckily she at least got come for the OP rehearsal.
even so, this morning de last rehearsal with the other groups in our session, she couldnt come cos she got some problems at her hostel.... ! =.="
BUT AT least its OVER.
the moderator for our group came and left kinda quietly.
but i notice that she nod her head alot...leaving me wondering whether she really understand or not.
overall, PW has enabled us to learn skills essential to our working life in future - brainstorming for ideas, writing the proposal, evaluating information sources, then writing the report (and summarizing and kicking out useless and sometimes sacrificing useful information to keep within the word limit) and finally the oral presentation. It has enabled me personally to be learn more about powerpoint (how to animate tables row by row esp).
but one thing i dont like - it wastes a lot of time and especially RESOURCES.
A typical hardworking PW group will probably have printed lots of drafts of PI, EoM, I & Rs, resources, and certainly the WR! i do most of the printing for my group, and even with double sided printing, i have probably used up 1-1.25 stacks of papers. Add up all the drafts and final copies and photocopies of our GPP, PI, EoM and I & R and i think about 2 stacks liaoz. Thus, a typical group who do not print on both sides of the paper will have used about 3-4 stacks of papers!! just for PW........... Thinking about it makes me worry about the Earth....and still got computer usages...T.T
regarding time, think about how much weekends we have spent doing our own individual components for Pw and to also do group meetings.
