Had a really good time with Havenue yesterday! they organized a visit to HCA hospice at novena. And i jumped at the chance to go. and managed to pull one of my friends along as well!

Inspiring stories, laughter, memories were the highlights of the visits! In the morning, We guys helped the lone pharmacist with her stuff in her pharmacy room. She injured her back recently, and certainly the help was welcome. Looking at the huge amount of morphine bottles and the medicine cups, they reminded me of those days looking after my mum. Glad to have helped her for that morning!

Afternoon was the highlight! talked alot with one 80-plus year old man who looked 60 plus! He told us his life long stories, and even teared abit at one part. The upz and downs of his life, through the war,his marriages and his family. Even though he is now living alone with his maid, he feels happy because of all the friends he made outside! at the hospice and the different places he visited weekly.

There were also the others! the malay man who learned mahjong and dialects. And all of them were really really cheerful! and the other old man who still talked so lively with us! And the aunties as well.I think they are really living their lives more than us.

The dogs (and 1 rabbit) also came by! That really surprised me! Performed tricks and stuff. Offered handshakes (and licks) to the people who offered food hahah.  I think the focus sort of divert to them for that little while. Animals like dogs never fail to brighten my day.

When they were waiting to depart, we had even more chats with more people! Was really touched when the same uncle told us to not stay sol late cos "its gonna rain soon, no direct shelter from here to mrt".

Really really missed my days as a normal volunteer! But i will certainly do my best for yrs and csc as well. =)
