The last few days : mum was in the hospital.
due to an infection in her leg causing a painful swell that is preventing her from walking and sleeping properly
the hospice doctor came and recommended her to go to the A&E asap.
but she refused and only relented the next day.
Back to being hooked up to an iv drip, and even going through 1 blood transfusion on the first day and a platelet one for the 2nd last day. Now that she's weaker (less muscles) she cries out each time the needle is inserted. and just a few posts ago I have said that the days of going SGH is over..
Quite hectic for me, having to devote more time going to and fro the hospital. Kinda falling back on my work already.
Now shes back, the swell is (slightly) down, different set of medicines, and back to eating and sleeping. She's feeling better though her appetite continue to go down. The pain in her body...well managed by the morphine she takes daily? Now the liquid form of morphine is changed to a little purple pill.
Dad's contemplating letting her go to a day-care centre. I feel that it can be good and bad. Good for mum who can feel less bored and perhaps be more active in the day with the activities there. Good for dad who is feeling stressed looking after her and he has his own medical condition as well. Bad..well the transportation. Even though its provided for both ways, it can still be tiring. If only this is my holidays.
Thanks to all my friends who have been so encouraging and understanding! And to the nurses and the doctors of ward SGH ward 54! and the blood donors!
