have not been updating for a very long time!
this semester have been quite okay.
except for the project for is1103.
hope to get it out of the way soon cos my homework deadlines seems to be catching up with me.
anw, I am slowly fulfilling my new year's resolutions!
one of which is to volunteer.
been to many different ones, including one by NUS.
the one by NUS community service club is the Yishun Reading Stars!
Going to the student service centre every fri evening to read to kids.
not only do we read, we teach them moral values too! thru skits and discussions.
been to 1+3 session so far. it has been good!
except for the fact the the kid i am assigned to and "experienced with " every week since session 0 cant come for this sem's sessions due to school cca.
and the others (who has met him for past semesters' sessions) say he is a very good and cute boy!
so I take on kids whose tutors didnt come.
but for the past 2 sessions, i have gotten the same kid.
she's quiet! but after she got familiar with me, she began to talk more.
guess i will stay with her since her previous tutor doesnt seem to be coming anymore?
didnt know Kheng meng would be so interested to join too!
he got a very naughty kid last week.
and think he is stuck with him for the rest of the sessions? lol
Outside school, I have been signing up for stuff through sgCares.
been to a mudflat survey (very tiring), cleaning up of a family's home, food packing (didnt managed to be one of those who deliver tha food) ,and taken care of kids during a parents' workshop.
but went the most times to one with Animals' Lovers League.
been there a few times last time(before army) on my own. but i think its now better that i can go expected, than to go there at random days.
would not mind going there regularly.
problem is it is kinda far! (pasir ris farmway).
and the slots got snatched up real quickly.
the experiences have certainly exposed me to different perspective of society. and brought me to parts of Singapore I would not have been on my own. and to stories of ppl i didnt know. the feeling knowing that you have directly helped/impacted someone's lives is kinda "shuang" too! =)
