busary award at cscc; repaired com

Went to Cheng San CC to collect my bursary award of $300 this morning.

But it turned out to be a mini gathering of my pri 6 class (JSPS 6/1'o2)!
Also present was yong seng, wei siang, bao li from ajc; yi liang from yjc; shu ling from vjc, cherlyn from nyjc. hahas, not too bad, all sitting near me.

ceremony started at 11 plus after some deyi sec performances and an opening address by YIP Dr.Balaji.
Pri goes first, then sec, then finally us pre-university students! took about 40 mins to reach us at the 13-14th row.

i was also pretty amused by the last person trailing behind the tall university students at the end of the ceremony - it was a small young pri school boy from jing shan! wondered whats he doing right at the end though...=/

And i finally had my com repaired!
after weeks of having to try for 10-15 mins on-ing and off-ing the com just to get it started successfully, my bro(and I) could not stand it any longer and brought it (the CPU only, not the whole com) down to the com shop near my house.

An early check on the power supply using a special voltmeter showed no problems. But when another power supply box was used, the com started up finely (and fast). So the man checked again with ours, and although the lights on the voltmeter were all on at the beginning to show that all was fine, the lights went off after a few seconds. And so the problem was solved with the installation of a new power supply. And as the man seemed to know my bro, he was charged at only $100 =) What matters is now my com starts up finely.

The shop is small (half a typical store) and have lots of old and new things all around. This includes windows 98 advertisements, old power supplys, keyboards, laptops etc. But whats interesting is that the shop keep cats! 2 in fact, but i saw only 1. It surprised the hell out of me though when i heard meows out of nowhere.
