Decided to drop in another entry.
Warning* this post is a bit on long side.
Year 2007 is drawing to an end and thus this will be sort of a reflection on what i have archived (and failed) this year.
I began a new stage of my education life this year in AJC.
the 1st 3 months of PAE was spent with PDG 27/07 (now 26/07) - a wonderful class with lots of fun, laughter and joy and full of characters and energy.
i wasnt very attentive for some of the lessons, and at others time I tried hard to understand all the new terms coming to me.
Nevertheless, i did okay for the 1st common test in my Jc year.
i also joined hockey (with melvrick) as a cca, after trying for squash and tennis unsuccessfully.
I had wanted a sports cca, and so hockey was also one of my choices due to me having enjoyed it at pri school.
But the sport was pretty tiring, and required some bending down to hold the stick.
And so i (and melvrick) did not continue it at 2nd intake.
2nd intake comes.
i got 11 points for o levels!
i volunteered as an ogf for orientation 2.
Made lots of new friends with leopardio - a very enthu ancient.
Somehow me and francis did not register for our subject combi successfully (system glitch and we didnt heard the announcement to sign up again)
classless for the weekend, and the first few hours of the first day after O2.
We finally got our classes - but it wasnt the class we had for 1st intake.
rather, we were allocated another new class! - 2107.
We were kinda disappointed - but nevertheless, 2107 proved to be another fun class.
We grew more united each day passes. We laugh, bully, help, teach, tease one another.
It(the unity and bond) reminds me of life in 2/3'04
We even volunteered to be Open House Facilitators as a class
I also failed to get into any sports cca again.
And after some "coaxing" (i cant think of any more suitable words now) by classmates and clarence, I joined harmonica band - without any music background and "fresh out of the box" and after some 2 weeks later cca started.
I was thinking to myself " woah, i joined so many types of ccas before : sports - badminton, Ug- Ncc air, Clubs and societies - Art, maths, IT Clubs. and now performing arts - harmoc!"
I was slow at learning, but after some practicing, I finally could playvery decently well.
I got audited into section 3 Octave.
Project work came and it was a loooong and tiring process.
Leck khai's house and the com lab become our regular meeting place.
One group member left for hometown, and another had migraine and so was MIA for quite some time.
so most work was done by us - 3 guys.
We even have to change entire showcase idea just 1-2 weeks before the written report submission date!
but we made it. I hope we get an A (or at least a B) when the results come out next year.
Promos also came and went.
the anxiety, nervousness and stress was even worse than o levels.
thats when u realised you need a lot of catching up to do and you had so little time.
but luckily (heng heng), i passed.
but my batch did not do decently well, and this is the first year (or so they claimed) that ajc had to do retests for promos.
the restests will be conducted around this week, and do good luck to them!
the hols came.
Two seemingly similar SLs with 2 different purposes.
Both are for kids of family service centers.
Class - camp for amk fsc at ajc.
Harmoc - lessons for daybreak fsc.
Gained invaluable experience of mingling with the kids.
I am pretty satisfied with what i have done.
This is also the first year we had to do (organise) our own CIP.
I joined nyaa silver, and so CIP is a important component.
so me with several frens volunteered with the singapore heart foundation.
first was doing flag days - but we decided to go further by volunteering for the organisation itself.
and so began my first time making calls and doing media monitoring monthly for shf.
I volunteered for Orientation 1 next year.
I got into Berhenzin (the extra house agin) and my group is Ibos
And now its back to last minutehomework scrambling.
